Applications are now open for the 2026/2027 American University of Beirut (AUB) Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program. The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program provides full scholarships in partnership with the American University of Beirut (AUB).

​The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program ​aims to prepare young people to be agents of change in their communities, countries, and regions. Scholars attend a series of workshops, courses, and fieldwork in addition to the courses for their degrees.

on-campus master’s (thesis and non-thesis tracks

​​​On-campus masters’ scholarships are open to young people who are:​

1. Citizens of countries on the African Continent
2. Citizens of Lebanon
3. Refugees living in Lebanon or on the African Continent

​​​PhD scholarships are open to:

1. Citizens of countries on the African Continent
2. Refugees living ​on the African Continent​

Eligibility Requirements

• 35 years or younger
• Strong academic standing in their previous degree
• Talent that exceeds financial resources​
• Demonstrated leadership potential and commitment to community engagement​
• Commitment to attend ​additional learning experiences and workshops required by the Scholars Program
• Demonstration of Readiness for University Studies in English (RUSE) by May 31, 2026.

​Tests that you can submit: AUB-EN test, TOEFL IBT, IELTS (Academic), GRE (Verbal), GMAT (Verbal), or DUOLINGO English Test (DET).​

Online Graduate Scholarship

The scholarship program is open for Fall admissions to the following five onlinegraduate programs:

1. Master’s in​​Eng ineering Management​ (Online)
2. Master’s inComputing in Educatio n (Online)​​

5. ​Executive Master in Healthcare Leadership​ (Online)

Each online master’s program might have additional admissions requirements. Kindly check the webpages of each program for additional details.

How to Apply

Interested applicants should:

​ St ep ​ 1 **:**Complete an AUBonline graduate application and upload supporting documents by the deadline.

**Step ​2:**Select Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program under the Financial Opportunities section of the online graduate application.

Step 3 (not required for PhD): Complete the AUB Financial Aid Application, which will be accessible after you ​submit your online graduate application.

​**IMPORTANT NOTE:**For an application to be considered complete, applicants must have completed (1) the AUB online graduate application and (2) the AUB Financial Aid Application.

​Step ​1:Complete the AUB online graduate application and upload supporting documents by May 18​, 2026​. Step​2: Submit RUSE ​scores by June 30, 2026.

**IMPORTANT NOTE:**For an application to be conside​red complete, applicants must have completed (1) the AUB online graduate application and (2) submit RUSE scores.
