Applications are now open for the 2026 UNICEF Venture Fund StartUp Lab Cohort 6. The UNICEF Venture Fund is on the lookout for early-stage startups using frontier technologies – AI, data science, blockchain, and more – to create real-world impact.

Requirements

• Startups based in low- and middle-income countries
• Have a functional prototype, and
• A commitment to Open Source principles.

For Cohort 6, the accelerator is seeking bold, scalable innovations addressing challenges in:

• Urban technology
• Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH)
• Child protection
• Education
• Healthcare
• Climate resilience
• Financial inclusion

tartups selected for cohort six will receive:

• Direct engagement with UNICEF programme experts across key sectors
• Industry-led training, mentorship, and hands-on technical support
• Access to UNICEF’s global network of country offices and partners
• Opportunities to engage with KOICA Ghana

Participants will also be eligible for up to $6,000 in prototyping funding, while the top three performing startups will each receive $15,000 in scale-up funding.

In addition, startups will receive guidance on aligning their products with the SDGs and contributing to the growing ecosystem of digital public goods.
